The Accounting Office has oversight over the following areas:

Accounting / Financial Reporting

  • Maintenance of the Chart of Accounts of the General Ledger including account setup and edits
  • Financial accountability and compliance including KFS Financial Processing eDoc approvals
  • Payroll accounting
  • Foundation / scholarship accounting
  • Debt and internal loan accounting
  • Annual, quarterly, and other financial reports
  • Oversight of KFS Object Codes

Inventory Control / Capitalization

  • Tagging and conducting annual physical inventory of equipment
  • Capitalization and tracking of all fixed assets including land, buildings, nonstructual or infrastructure, construction-in-progress

Project Accounting

  • Accounting and reporting for all capital projects at the Storrs and Regional Campuses and for UCONN 2000 funded projects at the UCONN Health Center. Capital projects include new construction, renovations, and deferred maintenance
  • Projects funded by UCONN 2000, other State bonds, departmental funding and outside funding, including donations, grants and federal funding
  • Works closely with University Planning, Design and Construction, Capital Projects and Contract Administration, Academic Renovations, and Facilities Operations as well as University Departments
