KFS Capital Asset Management (CAM) Module

Equipment records are kept in the KFS Capital Asset Management (CAM) module. Each capital equipment record contains the following information:

  • Asset Number
  • Organization Code (department) responsible for custody
  • Acquisition Type Code
  • Asset Status Code
  • Asset Condition
  • Asset Description
  • Asset Type
  • Vendor Name
  • Manufacturer
  • Model Number
  • Serial Number
  • Tag Number (bar-coded UConn tag)
  • Last Inventory Date, Create Date, In-Service Date, and Depreciation Date
  • Total Cost
  • Federal Contribution
  • Asset Location (campus, building, and room number)
  • Organization Inventory Name (custodian of the equipment)
  • Detailed payment information (for capital assets only)
    • Account and Object Code
    • Posting Date
    • Purchase Order Number
    • Payment Request eDoc or other eDoc used to create the asset record
  • Depreciation Information
    • Depreciation Method
    • Depreciable Life
    • Accumulated Depreciation
    • Current Book Value
  • Equipment Loan Information (if applicable)
  • All Related Capital Asset Documents since the inception of KFS in July, 2012
